1. through 10, we looked actually forward to eating our dinner at the Junction Restaurant located on the lobby level of the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland. We made even a booking. So we arrived while staying at the hotel, but the restaurant was nearly empty and we couldn't make out what belongs to the "proper" restaurant and what belongs to the bar of the hotel. The setting was airy and open, but it wasn't comfortable and felt "added on" instead of being a "destination within the hotel experience". Service was only "so so" and the choice of meals on offer was old-fashioned and not particularly healthy either. So with this in mind we had both the salmon which was pretty good, but again, could be better in terms of how it is served and where it is served, plus the rose wine was good too, the desserts were old-fashioned too, we felt this restaurant isn't a restaurant it's an extension of the bar area. The hotel should change this and improve the heating and overall setting and feel/light of this restaurant, improve the service standards and bring the food into a healthier and modern 21st century. Overall, we wouldn't recommend this restaurant, why? Belfast has evolved over the years and the restaurants in this beautiful city have arrived in modern times, so here you have it, when staying at this hotel, enjoy your Executive Room, plenty of space and it's a wonderful room, enjoy the location of the hotel in the heart of Belfast and explore the city, but service has to be improved in this hotel, a renovation is needed to bring the hotel up to modern, lighter and airier standards, and yes, the food concepts should be rethought with a certain urgency too. Overall, stay here, but going out and enjoy the city should be your priority. Enjoy.
Our love for travel reflected in the hotels we stay, visit and enjoy.

Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK / 10/2014 : Our Observations : Exterior and Details [4] UPDATE: As of September 2015, this hotel is now known as the Clayton Hotel, Belfast, part of the Dalata Group, the restaurant is now simply called "The Restaurant".
1. through 15, we liked the details of the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland celebrating local culture and connecting us to the location, plus we enjoyed the facade which was commanding and the location opposite the stately BBC Northern Ireland House was simply sublime for our purposes on this visit. From the interesting art, the textures, the photos and details, this was a very successful concept IMHO. It's now only important that the hotel looks to renovate in their future incl. making up and modernize their public spaces, giving them more light and bringing in a delightful new restaurant and inviting bar areas, which are lacking right now, but with the existing art and getting a feel what the hotel could be and having stayed in their Executive Rooms it shows they're going into the right direction as long they modernize the Holiday Inn and bringing it into the 21st century Belfast where it belongs. Of course this will have to be paired with a more superior service standard too. Enjoy.

Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK / 10/2014 : Our Executive Room : Our In-Room Breakfast [3] UPDATE: As of September 2015, this hotel is now known as the Clayton Hotel, Belfast, part of the Dalata Group, the restaurant is now simply called "The Restaurant".
1. through 10, we enjoyed our In-Room Breakfast at the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland, at least on the first morning, it was near perfect, good coffee, fruits, yogurt, berries, toast, juice, jams and more, it was very tasty and we thought that's a strong point of the hotel, good food, good presentation at a good price. Sadly so, on our second morning the presentation wasn't half as nice, the choice wasn't as good and overall the service, presentation and even the quality had declined, so our feeling is that it's 50/50 right now in regards to our In-Room Breakfast experiences at this particular hotel. Should you order In-Room Breakfast here and receive the same high overall standard we received while enjoying our first In-Room Breakfast here then please enjoy, but otherwise we feel the hotel must improve in quality and service delivery to be more consistent especially when staying in an upgraded Executive Room. Enjoy.

1. through 10, we liked the bathroom on the whole, the upgraded White Company amenities felt like a good addition to our Executive Room at the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The shower, despite bathtub/shower combined was enjoyable and comfortable too, it was a good set-up and yes, as with the room itself we would recommend that future guests who want to stay at this particular hotel should book this room type as their choice while in Belfast. Enjoy.

Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK / 10/2014 : Our Executive Room [1] UPDATE: As of September 2015, this hotel is now known as the Clayton Hotel, Belfast, part of the Dalata Group, the restaurant is now simply called "The Restaurant".
1. through 15, we enjoyed our Executive Room at the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland, we got a warm welcome incl. handwritten welcome note, the room incl. complimentary snacks and more, good space, wonderful design elements and a good seating area for two, plus good views are to be had in the heart of Belfast across the BBC Northern Ireland. The location of the hotel is also wonderful and nearly everything can be visited on foot which we enjoyed, from shopping, culture and good food, plus the bus stop for the Titanic Belfast, the City Hall and more is all nearby this hotel. Overall, our Executive Room comes highly recommended when considering a visit to Belfast and a stay at the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Belfast is a beautiful city. Enjoy.
