Crowne Plaza Hotel Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : The Facade, Details and other observations [3] UPDATE: As of October 2015, the hotel is now known as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland.

1. through 10, while the location is near the airport, the overall "true" location of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland is actually the Northwood Estate which borders the Santry Demesne, a park with lake, walkways and a field for sports. The location can be a positive or a negative, this depends what the guest would expect "to do" at this hotel and the surrounding area, it's close to a bus stop to / from Dublin City Centre, that's a good thing, but it's still around 10 minutes walking distance to that stop and than around 20/30 minutes bus commute to the city proper, also there's no memorable restaurant within walking distance outside of the hotel, which wouldn't bother us too much as we would stay here for one night before / after our flight, but sadly the food is lacking in the hotel, the offers sound / taste a bit like the hotel itself, past their prime, call it old-fashioned and not desirable. The service at the bar wasn't good either, in the restaurant the service was good, but the food wasn't, a mixed bag, not good for an airport hotel IMHO. The breakfast was uttlerly unmemorable, and that's saying the least, no tables open, no employees who guide us to open tables, the space again is too small for so many people IMHO, also the food itself wasn't good either, not what we would describe as a good / memorable breakfast, so overall we wouldn't recommend this hotel at Dublin Airport, in our books the Hilton Dublin Airport is still our favorite out of the options we tried at DUB. Enjoy.
