Crowne Plaza Hotel Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : The Facade, Details and other observations [3] UPDATE: As of October 2015, the hotel is now known as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland.

1. through 10, while the location is near the airport, the overall "true" location of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland is actually the Northwood Estate which borders the Santry Demesne, a park with lake, walkways and a field for sports. The location can be a positive or a negative, this depends what the guest would expect "to do" at this hotel and the surrounding area, it's close to a bus stop to / from Dublin City Centre, that's a good thing, but it's still around 10 minutes walking distance to that stop and than around 20/30 minutes bus commute to the city proper, also there's no memorable restaurant within walking distance outside of the hotel, which wouldn't bother us too much as we would stay here for one night before / after our flight, but sadly the food is lacking in the hotel, the offers sound / taste a bit like the hotel itself, past their prime, call it old-fashioned and not desirable. The service at the bar wasn't good either, in the restaurant the service was good, but the food wasn't, a mixed bag, not good for an airport hotel IMHO. The breakfast was uttlerly unmemorable, and that's saying the least, no tables open, no employees who guide us to open tables, the space again is too small for so many people IMHO, also the food itself wasn't good either, not what we would describe as a good / memorable breakfast, so overall we wouldn't recommend this hotel at Dublin Airport, in our books the Hilton Dublin Airport is still our favorite out of the options we tried at DUB. Enjoy.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : Our Club Room : Bathroom [2] UPDATE: As of October 2015, the hotel is now known as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland.

1. through 10, our bathroom could be described of something as a real highlight during our stay, which also included the comfortable bed in our Club Room, the bathroom was light, bright, clean and spacious. Here we could indulge in a good shower and superb, surprisingly luxurious Temple Spa bathroom amenities which were gorgeous to use. Now, they must only open up their Club Lounge during their weekend / offer full service / something we would actually expect from a so-called "full service" brand as Crowne Plaza, sadly however the lounge itself wasn't memorable for the right reason and a guy with a beer glass in his hand in the elevator wasn't our scene either. As I wrote before, this particular hotel is good as a purpose driven hotel when in need before / after a flight, but it's not a destination hotel. Enjoy.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : Our Club Room [1] UPDATE: As of October 2015, the hotel is now known as Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland.

1, through 10, our stay at the Crowne Plaza Dublin-Northwood, Dublin, Ireland, located near the airport started with a high point, especially after getting the complimentary shuttle to the hotel, after this we received as IHG Gold members an upgrade to the Club Floor incl. Club Room and Club Lounge access, in regards to the lounge be aware this facility is closed during the weekend, and yes, it was the weekend when we stayed there. Our room felt nice at first, but the room was cold and too narrow and offered bulky furniture which wasn't the most up to date, seeing that our stay was in November 2014 and the interior scheme seemed a bit old-fashioned and uninspired. The bed was comfortable and gorgeous and we would recommend this hotel for a purpose stay, meaning before / after a flight, but IMHO the hotel isn't a destination hotel. Enjoy.

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : The Facade, Details and other observations [3]

1. through 10, we enjoyed the views over lush greens and residential areas, that's keeping up with the location across from the Blanchardstown Centre and the suburbs of Dublin. We equally enjoyed our recognition at this hotel which incl. a fruit plate, a free dessert voucher with our dinner at the Forchetta Restaurant, free water and some chocolate at turn down. All is good / all was good, but we thought that this high standard would continue with our second stay in the same month / November 2014 / but this didn't happen, sadly so. There wasn't recognition for us, no fruits anymore, no welcome as repeat visitors / stayers of this property. As we have written before, should you receive what we received as IHG Gold's on our first stay, plus all the friendly welcomes to the hotel, the good room, superb views and enjoy the location, please enjoy the hotel, but we're very cautious now in our approach in recommending the property especially after our second stay here in Nov. 2014, which was our third stay overall at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland. We like the exterior too, as you can see from our photos published here. The Forchetta restaurant was memorable and tasty, the breakfast on the other hand wasn't very good and wasn't very enjoyable either. It's all about consistency and there seems to be a problem with this, especially seeing it's part of Crowne Plaza, a brand which sometimes lacks consistency, meaning high quality at all times. Overall, we hope you receive a welcome like we got during our first Nov. 2014 stay. Enjoy.

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland / 11/2014 : Our King Bed Room : Bathroom [2]

1. through 10, the bathroom complimented the standard of our king bed room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin-Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland. We enjoyed the space, the design and the bathroom amenities, no complaints here. As written before, we had two stays at this hotel and this particular stay sums up the more enjoyable stay. Should you get the same high standard of service and room, we would recommend this hotel in Dublin. Enjoy.
